They are the only ones who see me. I am not the only one who sees them. Two big blue eyes intense as the sun. Two that are not natural, but are here. Two separate pathways to safety. From our room we can see them, Mitchell doesn’t care to look though.

Their strength is their bases. A strong aluminum makeup gives it a stance against the elements. They shine and illuminate the night, and they scare away the foul beasts. Shine, shine, shine, shine they say as I whine. They speak.

If we forget their reason for being, the lights would burn out and the metal would rust away. Keep, keep, keep, keep they say while i’m away. They enlighten.

When I am too sore and in a pile of rubble, they keep keeping. When there is no more “Round Hill Circle,” they will keep keeping. Two who grew despite concrete. Two who shine and do not forget to shine. Two whose only reason is to see and see.
