Going Up
“Click ,click ,click” the noise the chain made as I w as being raised up into the air ten stories high my palms were sweaty, my heart was racing, my eyes where moving around in every direction looking which way I was going to be pulled down. I had never been on a rollercoaster before so of course I was more nervous than others but I knew if I died we would all be dying together. I then started to hear people in the front of the train start to scream and at that second I knew their was no turning back I couldn’t yell back at the ride operator and beg to my death for him to stop the ride. I could feel the lap bar tightening down on my legs as we all terrifyingly raised our hands in the air racing down the coasters track straight down. The wind was blowing in my face faster than ever my eyes where barely open tearing up the whole ride.
First we went up and than back down making sharp turns and twist I never expected it to end. We went in a long black tunnel I was sure I’d hit my head if I moved it in any direction besides straight ahead, it lasted about a minute before we had finally began to see sunlight again when we came out of the tunnel we where raised up above a green nasty, mucky swamp. We flew over the swamp and down passed the other rides in the park I could see everything from this view it just all went by us so fast we had no time to take our time looking at all the sites. I was full of smiles and laughter because I didn’t know I would be enjoying this ride or even that it would be this fun but I was having the time of my life. My stomach did start to feel a little bit sick but only after we had went in a loop two times in a row.
We had been on this ride for what it had felt like 10 minutes but really it was only just about a 2 minutes. I could feel the ride slowing down but not slow enough for the ride to be over, I was looking around everywhere trying to figure out what was going on. My heart had just calmed down from my nerves and now it was beating again faster then ever I was terrified I was positive that the ride was breaking down and that everything wasn’t all fun and giggles. Suddenly I felt the train drifting straight slower and slower before I could swallow my neck jerked forward and straight down another steep hill we went. Able to finally catch my breath I had realized I wasn’t dying and that it was just another hill before this mind blowing ride was complete and finally over with.
I like when roller coasters are fast because you spend all day in the heat at the amusement park and than you get to feel the amazing cool breeze when you ride the rides. Choosing this roller coaster as my first rollercoaster was probably a good idea I thought that because it wasn’t too tall or scary and it also wasn’t the best of the best. Visiting amusement parks never seemed to interest me more than after I rode my first coaster, I enjoy going back to that park and getting on that ride a few times before riding the more intense rides so I’m a little more warmed up. If I had never ridden a rollercoaster before I probably still wouldn’t like them to this day. Now I get more and more excited trying out different roller coasters that I’ve never been on before because each of them have a different feel to them some are scarier than others and that’s my favorite part finding out how scared I will get.
