Walls.
Walls. Four, they surround on all sides. Protecting what matters most: the soul, the emotions, the heart. The walls, they come up almost immediately when meeting new people. Why? Why is it so hard to let them in? It’s worse, in a sense. The walls only protect from people who do not harm. The tricky people are the ones who know exactly which brick to take out. That brick that holds all the rest up, that brick, it’s the kryptonite. Those are the people who leave the mark, who change the outlook of the mind. Maybe that’s a good thing, switching the views. But they leave something else behind. A warpath. A missing piece. They take with them a souvenir, the brick that sent the wall tumbling. Now, all is left is the crumbled wall, a missing spot, a change of heart, a new outlook. How to move on; pick up the pieces after the fleeting image of the people who take down the walls.
