Prologue

     Running. I have to run away from them. Gunshots sound from a distance. I run faster. Tears mixed with blood stream from my eyes. When did I become so sloppy? I dash for the awaiting plane. Brightness catches my eye. Suddenly the plane explodes. Fortunately I’m far enough away from being killed. But there’s more bad news than good news. First of all the explosion knocks me to the ground. Hard. I may not be dead, but I’m still in pain. Secondly the explosion hardly fazed my attackers. I’m unable to move and my enemies are closing in on me. But I am Emily Matthews and I always have a backup plan. The problem is that the plane WAS my backup plan.
                                      Chapter #1
     SLAP! Blood and sweat drip down my face. I cringe. “Tell me everything you know!” they demand. “First of all, you slap like a girl,” I retort. The man grunts something under his breath. Then he slaps me with all his might. Ok…maybe insulting was NOT the way to go. All right, I’ll back it up.
  I’m Emily Matthews. I’m a spy. I’ve never been caught until about a week ago. It all started when I got a call. “Hello.... hello?” I heard a grunt and they hung up. Sensing a mystery I retrace the call. “This number is not available. Please hang up and try again,” says the operator.
