It seemed like the slope would never end. With Gabe wrapped tightly in his arms and the snow getting harder, the sled had come to a stop. Jonas had hopped off the sled when he saw a bright light peeking through the snow storm. Just then, Jonas lost consciousness and dropped Gabe in the snow. When Jonas awoke, or so he thought, he was at the evening meal. His parents and lilly were there too. Jonas was confused, could Gabe have been found, with Gabe still in the snow without warmth. He didn't know if Gabe was dead or alive. The whole room began to fill with water, but his parents just kept talking. "Was this the end,"he thought.Surrounded by water Jonas woke up,it was raining. Relived that it was only a dream he began coughing and coughing on water. Gabe was by his side, but their journey was far from over. Jonas and Gabriel were both soaked and cold. Jonas began talking to Gabriel "Gabe what if we never find salvation?" "What if both of us die?" Suddenly, he was overcome with panic and sadness. Jonas knew that he must stay strong for Gabe. He wipped off his tears, wrapped Gabe tightly in his blanket, and forced himself to move on. In the distance he noticed some bright flashing lights. He moved closer and realized it was a tree covered in lights. He saw kids running back and fourth, in and out of their homes. A young boy, around jonas' age, bumped into Jonas. He said "Merry Christmas," Jonas looked at him in disbelief, was this real? "Wow you have a baby," Randy said. Jonas replied," he's my little brother we ran away." "Why don't you come to my house to meet my mom,"Randy offered. Jonas took Gabe to Randy's house, when they entered the warmth of the room surrounded them. Randy's mom introduced herself. "Hello, i'm Rosemary,"said the red-head with light blue eyes...
