If you don't like the way the world is, you change it. You have an obligation to change it. You just do it one step at a time. - Marian Wright Edelman

My name is Lisa Willis. I am sixteen years old. I would consider myself normal however, I was born as an albino. My entire life, I had been teased. Growing up, I had no friends because everyone seemed to be afraid of me. Like I was some kind of monster. Honestly, there were times when I felt like my existence had no purpose on this earth. There was no hope for me, my parents or anyone else who shared this disease. At least, that was what I thought. The moment Taylor Johnson came into my life, that was when everything changed. We met in freshman year of high school. She loved to read and suffered from a nasal congestion. Everytime you saw her, she had a saline in hand. No one would dare go next to her for like mine, they thought her condition was also disgusting.

The idea behind this story is to show how regardless of her condition. Lisa was appreciated and accepted by the one she loved. Not for who she was on the outside, but for her personality and what she had on the inside. Taylor and Lisa also appreciated each other because they chose to stick together even though they were ostracized by everyone else. I want my readers to know that whatever condition they may have or even if they are insecure about themselves just know that there is someone out there who would love them for who they are internally and not externally.
