Thresh
I run.
I need that backpack.
Without it there is no chance that district 11 will have a victor.
Without it, there is no chance that I will survive to revenge that little girl.
I run.
As I near the cornucopia I slow and crouch, moving forward slowly so as not to reveal my position to my enemies.
Fear.
Like the others I wait and watch. I think I spy a bit of movement in the cornucopia, but my eyes must be mistaken.
Suddenly, a table rises from the ground. As I am about to reveal myself I see the little redhead dart out of the cornucopia and grab her backpack, quickly disappearing into the trees.
It seems my eyes were not mistaken.
I see the girl from district 12 run towards the cornucopia, and I see the battle ensure between her and the girl from 2.
I run.
I wait behind the cornucopia and listen to the two of them fight.
I listen.
I hear 2 tell 12 that she would kill her like the little girl.
Rue. My heart jumps.
I rip 2 off of 12, and then I kill 2.
I let 12 live, for she has given little Rue an honorable death that I was unable to give.
I run.
To the cornucopia, grab my backpack and 2’s. I take off back into my field.
I hear Cato, the boy from 2 follow me when he realizes his partner is dead.
I laugh.
I run.
