One night before Christmas Eve my mom was baking and I asked her if she could teach me how she makes our family's recipe for italian lemon cookies. At the time I wasn’t tall enough to even reach the counter so I stood on a chair. It took all night, but the way my mom showed me how to make these cookies is so simple. I could make a batch pretty easily and the best part about making them is eating them. I think they are some of the best cookies ever. The night we baked it had snowed and ever since that Christmas I have made at least one batch of cookies for my family and everyone goes nuts. I only like making enough for each person to have one because then they beg me to make more next year and it has become a tradition now that I make cookies and my family loves it. I remember my mom wasn’t gonna serve my batch to my family but then they were done in the oven and she tried it and she was in awe. As a matter of fact my Dad was also in shock about how good they are because his Mom and Grandma always made them and they are the ones who came up with the recipe. My Grandma and I always go back and forth as to whose cookies are better and I know for a fact mine are. One time I made her have a competition and who ever got more votes to whose cookies are better wins. I ended up winning and she got very choleric. Now every year she acts contemptuous because she knows she would lose.
