I remember the trip of King Laius’ fall. I got away from the from the man who murdered the king. However, he struck me and I was injured I made my way to the next village for help.  When I finally left the village I made back to Thebes. When I arrived I was greeted by recent news of a now king who had slain the sphinx I was surprised. I needed to get a look at the new king. When I saw the new king I went in a state of mourning because the man that became king in my absence was the very man who had killed the previous king. To avoid death by the new king I asked Queen Jocasta To let me live out the rest of my days as a simple herdsman on the countryside. While living in the countryside I received a summon from the Queen to return to the City as soon as I possibly could. When I arrived at the city of Thebes Everything was in chaos, the city was being plagued by a massive famine. I made my way to the residence of Queen Jocasta to see the king and queen in a state of despair. “How may I help you, my lord?” I asked. “Am I the man who killed the previous king of this land?” he begged for the answer to the question. I answered, “ You are not only the man who killed the king but you also have laid with your mother who bore your four children.”
