I wish I would have ran
Why didn’t I run when I had the chance instead I stood there watching the blood splatter fly in different directions. If only I would have ran I wouldn’t of been kidnapped.
It was a late october night I was coming home from a friends house. I walked the same path I took earlier that day to my friends. I was humming a song in my head as I walked along the cracked concrete sidewalk. I thought I knew a shorter way to get home so I decided to turn down an alleyway. It stunk of mildew I thought I was safe but I saw something I will never forget! At the end of the alleyway I saw a man dressed in black he seemed drunk and a woman who also appeared to be drunk. I watched from behind a metal post in the alley. First they were just cussing at each other then it started to get physical the man threw a punch at the lady and knocked her to the ground. She got up and started hitting and slapping and that's when the man pulled out a gun from his waistband. The shot rang out I was frozen from fear. She lay lifeless on the ground blood was splattered everywhere. I stood there frozen for what felt a lifetime but in reality was like 3 minutes. I wasn’t thinking I turned around and ran out of the alley way and tripped over a few metal trash bins outside the alley way. I thought I was safe when I turn around to see the man dragging the woman's body out of the alley way spots me. He drops her body and I can see the rage and fear in his eyes. I turn and start running the man starts chasing me down the street and to a park where I stumble over a teeter totter. I try to frantically get up but he has already seized upon me like a tiger to its prey. I try to break free but his grip is so tight I feel like i'm losing blood flow to my left foot. He drags me along the sidewalk and to a silver truck he opens the door and reaches over to the passenger side and pulls out a blanket. He ties the blanket over my face by now i've lost all energy to yell. He picks me up and tossed me over his shoulder. I hear a tailgate open and then I am violently thrown into the metal tailgate. I try to escape but there is no escape it seems to be locked from the outside. I try to stay calm but I feel like the walls are closing in and my breathing starts speeding up. I tell myself to just breath but I can’t I start to lose consciousness….
…..I wake up and find myself tied to a bedpost the room is dark. I look around it must be morning I see the shades are drawn and the door is shut on the ground I see beer cans scattered about I see muddy shoe prints on the ground. The room is very plain I try to get free of the rope keeping tied to this bed. I struggle to break my hands free I try and try and try but I just can’t get the loose. I start to cry because I don’t know what's going to happen. Over my whimpering I hear footsteps they are growing louder. I try to calm my crying I watch as the doorknob turns slowly and the door slowly creaks open. I am sweating I try not to scream. All of a sudden I am jolted awake. I open my eyes completely I look around I'm in my own room but how? I see my dog rico staring at me startled.
