Summer Evenings
She took her nightly stroll across the boardwalk. Same path every night and always does the same thing. She rides alone and listens to the sound of children having fun on the rides. She never gets bored and when she gets to the end of her path she parks the bike and sits in the sand. She stares at the sun and watches it go down beneath the crystal blue water. This is her favorite part of her summer day. When the sun finally sets all of the pinks, oranges, blues, yellows, and purples appear in the sky like a painting. When the sky is completely dark she rides slowly back home with the artificial lights lighting the pathway. As she approaches her house, she parks her bike and sits on her porch swing recalling what she did that day and how enjoyable it was. She always wonders what she’ll do the next day, but she knows it will always end the same way.
