In-between Moments
There are so many things that we never talk of. So many things that happen everyday, but is never consciously noticed. The in-between moments.
The short span of time between sleeping and waking up. The white part of the day. So empty, yet so full. The time when for a few minutes you forget about everything that worries you. You just stare at the blank ceiling of the room, or stare out of the window through half closed eyes. It is so peaceful, yet so chaotic. So important, yet not worth remembering.
Then, the time in between the end of night and the break of dawn. When one bird starts chirping and all the others follow. When the blackness of the night slowly gives in to let the light of the dawn. The serenity of this time either takes away all your thoughts or clusters you with them.
When after carrying the load of several problems, each of them finally begin to get solved. When you feel so light that you feel like you're being lifted up. Like you are not there and yet there. Feather-light yet heavied with calmness.
... and when a loved one dies or is about to leave you. You feel this sudden heaviness in your heart, like your weight has increased by five pounds. Like suddenly someone has punched you in the heart. The pain feels real, yet so unreal to be believed in. You are sure that the person is no more there, even before you've got any news about it.
The in-between moments matter a lot, but they hardly matter.
