Realized
Just after he died he sat up and saw nothing but darkness. His name was Jack O’Brien and he died January 5, 2012 in a car accident. Everything he thought about in life was wrong, and he finally understood why. Jack had two daughters named Vanessa and Alison. Vanessa was 17, and Alison was 12. Jack and his wife, Elizabeth, were together for 20 years. He always thought he had the perfect life. Jack had the perfect job, perfect kids that got straight A’s, and the perfect wife who was a chef, and cooked the best food ever. He basically lived the life every average man dreamed of, at least that’s what he thought. The day he died was the day he saw the truth behind his so called perfect life. When he woke up he saw darkness, that was until he came across a small bright light. He had no idea what it was, but it’s better than being in the dark. The light came from a peephole on what seemed to be a door. He opened the door and was greeted by a beautiful girl. She had long curly brown hair and eyes like the ocean after a huge storm. She was stunning, that was until she took her coat off and enormous wings sprung out. “What the hell… Hello?” Jack asked the beautiful women. “Hello Jack, my name is Jasmine.” She responded. “What’s going on? Where am I, and what are you?” Jack asked rapidly. “I’m your guardian angel Jack, and I’m sorry to tell you this, but you died in a car accident” Jasmine told him. “Hahaha ok, I get it, who put you up with this? Was it Big Rob? Wow ok, you got me. I have to admit this is pretty good.” Jack laughed. “No Jack, you were in a car accident, and you died.” Jasmine explained. Jack stared at Jasmine with a confused face. “You don’t remember, do you?” Jasmine asked. “I can’t be dead, I’m not dead.” He whispered. “Wait, how did I die in a car accident?” Jack asked. “It was a drunk driver” Jasmine replied. “Who is the bastard? Did he die too?” “It was you Jack.” She told him. Suddenly it all came back to him, the drinking, the driving. Jack had been an alcoholic for a long time, more than half his life to be exact. He drank because of stress, at least that’s what he told his wife and kids. Jack didn’t know how bad his drinking actually was or how bad it affected his family. His two daughters cried their self to sleep every night he went out drinking, hoping that he would come home safe. Jack always thought his life was great ,but he couldn’t be more wrong. He can never tell his family how sorry he is or how much he loves them. He killed himself and there’s nothing he can do about it now.
