One day at watering hole in a far away land, a regal peacock, came to quench his thirst. The peacock’s plume was the brightest of them all and had the most vibrant colors. All the other animals admired him thinking to themselves, wow, I want to be him. It would be so cool if I was his friend.
From a distance, Fox explained with great enthusiasm to his friends,”This peacock is so cool. He’s the best at Critter Catching and he’s best buds with Mr. Owl,”
“You do realize that you and him share the same birthday, you should go and ask him to make sure,” one of the fox’s friend chit-chatted.
“Ok,” Fox responded. Fox went up to Peacock and asked.
“Yeah, my birthday is the twelfth of Nesting,” Peacock replied .
They became quite close friends after that incident.
A couple months later, after a vigorous training session for a Critter Catching match, Peacock asked Fox,“Hey, Fox, we been friends for a while now and I have been meaning to ask you something. Can I borrow some your fur? It would make me look even more fashionable. It would get you more popular as well, people will ask you, ‘was it your fur on Peacock.’ You’ll say yes and people will think you’re so cool.”
“Sure why not, just how will you get it off?” Fox questioned.
“I’ll just rip it off, you’ll be fine,” Peacock proclaimed.
“OWWWWWWW!” Fox shrieked.
The Fox and the Peacock came to the watering hole the next day and the Peacock got all the praise he wanted. Fox didn’t get any recognition at all. All the fox had was a bald spot and some wounded pride.
“That was fun!” Peacock exclaimed.
“For you, all I got were my teachers laughing at me.” Fox said sadly.
“Its fine, also can you help me plant critters on the Critter Catching court?” Peacock questioned.
“No! I'm not helping you, especially since that is cheating!” Fox uttered in disdain.
At the sametime, Principal Owl was nearby and he heard fowl language being used. He pressed against the thick jungle wall as he tried to get a listen in on the conversation. He moved as swiftly as a owl could against the smooth jungle bark and the low hanging branches. Although, he tried to move quietly, if there was a baby sleeping next to him, it would be bawling. The fallen branches crunching underneath his plumage. He heard most of the conversation was able to piece what was going on and soon enough, everyone got what was coming to them.As a result of the cheating going on, Peacock was expelled and the Fox realized who the peacock was in reality, a lying, cheating, dumb bird.

Moral: Don't be fooled by people’s first impressions.

So this was on of the many writing peices I was tasked with in my Reading and Writing class. Although I had to do it as an assignment, I found it really fun and I hope all you do too.
