Broken chains, broken bones and broken spirits

There is a place… a place of submission,a mindless place where you must succumb to a predetermined way of life.It is dark and voided.Expression, individuality and faith don’t exist. You have no freedom. Freedom? It is what let’s us be who we are,it is a part of being human.

You are human: You feel joy,sorrow,guilt...
But there is one thing that let’s you feel these emotions and think these thoughts.Freedom. Freedom, let’s you feel happy and sad,you think what you want and nobody can stop you.Without freedom you have nothing, nothing.freedom is what we are… you are not human if you’re not free. It’s true.

I remember the story of a hero.A true hero, she didn’t have super strength or the ability to fly, it was all in what she believed in.Rosa Parks was her name. She grew up in a world where she was deprived of human rights because of her skin that was of a darker shade than those in power. She lived on with her life being imposed with strict rules targeted at her specific “race”. She was not free but she did not agree or obey mindlessly. The bold story of her’ was that one ordinary but inspirational day she decided to sit in the front of the bus an area where her “race” was prohibited to get near to. A white woman entered the public vehicle and saw this woman sitting in the front with defiance. This white woman suggested,no… demanded her to sit at the back of the bus where the law stated the her people should be seated. The brave woman protested with a warm “No”. Rosa Parks was shockingly brave to commit such a bold act against the law, but that same act drove an entire culture enslaved by “superior” people to stand up for their rights. She since became a symbol of hope an independence and I thank her for it.Rosa Parks once said “ I would like to be remembered as someone who wanted to be free… So other people would also be free.

One young famous diarist called Anne Frank that lived for 15 years, sad, but those 15 years were full of emotional thoughts of all sorts: happy, sad, inspiring, and hopeless. Anne Frank was a very inspiring character, she was young, but that makes it even better.Anne lived in annex a cooped up space that forced her to live so close to people that she did not even have any privacy any more.she was not free physically but she was even less emotionally. She could not express herself and that is an eternal prison.I don’t think a quote is necessary for me to provide proof because I would like you to imagine based on her thoughts what her she would have said. I just want to let her know that wherever she is now that she did not die in vain, her story will live on.

There are cruel people in this world who do unspeakable things, but the worst are those who deny that freedom, that sense of liberty. They dehumanize people by locking their freedom away. The 16 th president of the United Staes of America, Abraham Lincoln fought for the freedom of the slaves that were detained by the south in the civil war.He was a brave man and he knew what he did had to be done to give back the freedom of slaves.

I don’t think we realize the potential that we humans have when we stand up for what we believ in .The courage that it takes to defy when everyone else obeys. The amount of spirit and hope one gives to another when they believe. The ability to fight. The will to fight, the courage to fight for what is right.

Freedom.
