The Cool Pond
The cattails sway back and forth in the gentle summer breeze. The sky was blue as a light blue ball. The water gently lapped against the willow trees growing in the water. The sun radiating brilliant purples and blues and yellows as it slowly sank below the horizon. The whistling of the wind could be heard puffing through the trees in bright dark green. The trees were giants one hundred feet up into the sky. The small ferns were home to many small birds and insects, who were singing with the wind.
With his back to the forest he looked at his middle class house. His brilliant fishing rod, glowing red in the light, was as beautifully made as a streamlined dolphin. He gently tossed the line into the tiny, green pond. The fish that attacked the hook was like a ghost, seen one minute then gone the next. The water barely made a ripple as the fish leaped into the air, its body simmering and caught the last rays of sunlight. The pale moon was rising as the boy walked home with his dinner. The thousands of glowing, shining lights in the sky slowly became brighter as the last tiny rays of the sun went down.
