The birthday party was everything that 3rd grader Matt Sheffield could have ever hoped for. It had everything: family, friends, a piñata, a bouncy castle. It even had a clown.

This clown went by the name of Bozo the Buffoon and he was the life of the party. He could make balloons into animals and then pop them to make doves fly out. He could tell jokes that would make your eyes water and do card tricks that would leave you dumbfounded. Above all though, Bozo had the best stories. This one was Matt's favorite:

Bozo started every one of his stories the same way.

"Hey, kids," he would say. "Gather round! It's time to hear another one of Bozo's trademark tales!"

The kids would whisper excitedly to one another. This was what they had all been waiting for.

"One day, me and some of my clown friends were going to the movies. We had been driving for a little while when I realized that we hadn't decided on what we were going to see. 'I want to see the new Toy Story movie,' I decided. 'Wait, I already saw that,' Leo the Laughable said. We bickered about it for a little while longer but finally we decided that we were going to see the new Christopher Nolan movie. So finally we got to the theater and I told my friends to wait in the car while I went to see if they were sold out. 'We have plenty of tickets,' the man at the counter said. 'Just tell your friends that the movie is 18 and up.' 'It won't be a problem,' I replied. 'I've got seventeen friends in my clown car with me!'

It wasn't a particularly good joke but at a 3rd grade birthday party the kids loved it. When the party was over Matt decided to walk Bozo back to his car.

"Thanks for a nice time, kid," Bozo said before he drove off.

Bozo's car was a Nissan, Matt saw. It wasn't a clown car at all.
