"Hey Liza! Did you read the noticeboard?",said Susan.Liza replied lazily"No I was busy all day in the biology lab"
"there's an inter school debating competition.I am so excited.Will you participate?"
"I don't know"
"Ah! I know you cannot do that..you can never participate.Actually the thing is you cannot even speak infront of anyone."
Liza left the place, totally embarrassed.
On her way to the library,she felt that she should look at the noticeboard first, though she never had the confidence to participate.
"SUNDAY,1st MARCH" were the words which captivated her mind.She somehow tried not to think about it but Susan's words forced her to give it a thought.
Ever since she was young,she had always wanted to win competitions and be praised but whenever there was an event, she tried to hide herself. She was never ready to throw away the fear which she had always inculcated in herself.
That day she went home greatly disturbed and on asking she told her sister about the competition and that she wanted to participate.
Her sister felt pity on her.She encouraged her to participate by saying,"You Have To Prove That You Can Do It".Both sisters spent the night writing a speech.
Next Day, everybody was astonished to see Liza telling her teacher that she wanted to participate and that she had also prepared a speech.Before the teacher could ask her to read, the bell rang and that class finished.The teacher told her to come to her in the recess and she would listen to her speech.Everyone looked at Liza with inquisitive eyes.Everyone wanted to know that why after so many years she decided to do it.

Liza was quite friendly with her teacher and so it was easier for her to deliver a speech in front of her. The teacher liked her speech and she was selected but the question was would she be able to deliver an entire speech of five minutes in front of hundreds of people who would be staring at her during her speech?
In her heart, she knew that standing there for the first time it would be difficult, very difficult indeed. But she had to prove herself.
Days past and each day brought a different fear and finally the day came, it was 1st March.
Liza entered the school facing the ground because she didn't want anyone to notice her and ask her questions about her preparation. when she looked up, she saw Susan(who was also selected). Liza tried to ignore her and once again left that place.
The competition was inside her school and students of other schools started filling the hall. Liza sat in the participants' room where she saw everyone practicing and felt as if she was dumb. Then, the competition started. One after and other every student went and came back satisfied and confident. After a few contestants , a voice reached Liza's ears, "NOW THE NEXT PARTICIPANT IS LIZA" "LIZA!!""LIZAA! WHO IS LIZA AND WHERE IS SHE? "but liza sat their dumbfounded and then Susan pushed her forward. She had been lost and then she stood. She looked at the crowd and then at the stage. Her  sister was in the audience too and she smiled at her to boost her. Liza squealed her eyes shut in an effort to prevent a burst of tears, then sniffed hard, took a big breath and moved towards the dice with shaking legs and heart poundin
