The Movie Making of The Odyssey
How do modern day actors portray the qualities of the ancient greek heroes? Who do the people think should play the most important characters in The Odyssey? In the epic poem The Odyssey, Homer uses Strong, Powerful, and Beautiful characters to benefit the possibilities of making this into an excellent movie
To Begin with, Odysseus is very charming, attractive, and extremely courageous, which makes Channing Tatum the perfect actor to play Odysseus. As Odysseus tells his men, “Men hold me formidable for guilt in peace and war” (656:128). In this sentence, Odysseus describes himself as formidable which means respect through being impressively large and large, powerful, and intense. Channing Tatum has shown in many other of his movies that he is also formidable. Another example that Odysseus says is “I stonned the place and killed the men who fought”(657:153). Odysseus shows in many ways that he is very honorable, especially when he says he will kill anyone who tries to fight him. Another good reason why Channing Tatum should play Odysseus because in his other movies, he shows how strong and willing he is to do what he wants.

Additionally, Penelope is so gorgeous and faithful towards her husband, which makes Jennifer lawrence. the perfect actor to play her. When penelope walks in they say, “Thus in her beauty she approached the suitors” (21.1105). Penelope is amazingly
gorgeous, and she has men lining up to just be with her, so she makes a challenge to see who is the best man to take her Odysseus's spot as king. By saying this, it shows how good Jennifer Lawrence would do as acting as Penelope. Not only is Jennifer Lawrence really pretty, but in her other movies, she would have chosen the man who can shoot a bow and arrow through the holes. Penelope is not only beautiful, she is “The faithful wife that redicus her disguised husbands” (summary. 1652). Penelope is very faithful, she doesn’t know if the man that looks like Odysseus is really him, she is faithful enough to make a challenge to see if it is really her husband. Jennifer Lawrence, in a few of her movies, has been very faithful towards her boyfriends, family, even her own town, she is just that good of an actor, that she should definitely play Penelope.

Last but not least, Telemachus is a determined, loyal and very loving, which makes Leonardo Dicaprio the perfect actor for him. As Homer said, “Telemachus has been searching the Mediterranean World for his father” (summary 1652). This shows how determined and committed Telemachus is towards finding his father, even though it can become a very dangerous search. Leonardo Dicaprio is the best actor for Telemachus because during his other movies he his committed towards his job and does an amazing job as an actor, so this is one reason why he should act as Telemachus. As the people explain, “When Telemachus came, The Wolf Troop of watched dogs only fond on him, as they admired him” (16.935-37). The watched dogs liked Telemachus so much that they didn’t attack him, instead they just loved on him, he was a very loving man. Leonardo Dicaprio is a very loving actor, everyone loves him a lot.

Wondering who and how modern day actors could possible portray the qualities of ancient greek heroes, will always be determined on what many people think. The three main characters are the most important in many ways, that is why they should have the best of the best actors to play them. Thinking of someone to choose was not that difficult, it’s the attitude they have towards it is the impossible part about it.
