Monday
Lilly lived in the small town of Stoneville. She was a 10th grader at Stoneville High, and she woke up early Monday morning to get ready for school. It seemed like it was going to be a boring Monday as usual, but boy was she wrong!
When Lilly arrived to school, she rushed to get her books and get to her first block history class. Lilly already knew her Monday was going to be excruciatingly long and boring. Mrs. Morgan lectured about World History and Lilly tried her hardest to concentrate. Something seemed strange though; Lilly could see a foggy haze in the air. The smoke was thin at first, but then it became very noticeable. All of a sudden, the fire alarm started blaring.
As Lilly looked around, all of her fellow classmates turned into animals. Terrified, she ran for the door and felt to see if it was safe to open. Out in the hallway, there were gigantic clouds of smoke that made it hard to see anything. A large “CRACK!” sounded and Lilly dashed through the hallway to the faintly lit up exit sign. By the looks of the flames rushing up the walls, she knew that she only had a matter of seconds before the roof would collapse on her. As Lilly ran, she slipped and felt the floor give way. “Whoosh!” she suddenly dropped onto a cool metal slide that was underneath the school.
Suddenly Lilly was submerged in complete and utter darkness. The slide seemed to be never ending, but then Lilly saw a glimmer of light in the distance. Before she knew it she felt the rush of cool air outside as she fell into a dumpster full of foam squares. The sound of a voice took Lilly out of the pit and when she opened her eyes, she was in her history class.
“Lilly! Wake up before Mrs. Morgan notices!” said Martha.
“Wait, what? I had the strangest dream… ,“ replied Lilly.
“Tell me about it later! The bell is about to ring!” responded Martha.
