I can still remember my first kickball game. I was eight years old, and my team lost. At that time, I was angry and disappointed because I didn’t I didn’t know the true meaning of the game . Let me tell you the story of the time I found out the true meaning of kickball.

It was a bright summer day. It was sweltering outside and my legs where burning .Even though I was wearing shorts, I slid around like I had jeans on. Then I got so many cuts and bruises. Then my summer councilor and Amanda asked us if we wanted to play kickball I was the first one to say yes. We were playing against the other after school program that was staying in our building. They kicked first. I got to be the pitcher. The rubber ball was hot in my hands. I screamed to the kicker, “Are you ready?” He nodded. He didn’t know what he was in for. I pitched the ball so fast that he didn’t even have the chance to swing his leg. We had 3 outs in no time.

Then it was our turn to kick we scored 3 straight runs. Then we got 3 strait outs is there some type of pattern. When they were back on the field they stared to dominate. By the time we got them 3 outs the score was 2-4. We needed to get 3 points this inning to win. Then a miracle happened we got 2 points and someone was on third it was my turn to kick. All the pressure was on me but I am not like other who crack under pressure. That’s when I do best. I baby tapped the person on 3rd got home. I got to 3rd to because they missed me 2 times. We had won the game.

At first I felt like I had won the game all by myself. I thought that without me that my team would have lost. Then I realized that it was a team effort that won the game not just me. We had all worked together and we persevered together. It’s a team effort we all have to work together to win the game. There is on one player. There is no I in team. We all work together.
