Mario Gotze
“One day i'm going to be a professional soccer player and everybody is going to remember me as Mario Gotze”haha your life is a joke how do you expect that” and all the kids started laughing and well i couldn't stand it so I ran back to my house and started crying then I went to my room and kneeled down and said dear god you know everything I just want you to help me be a professional soccer player amen. when I said those words I felt confident and knew that he would help me throughout these situation.
The next day in my hand when i reached to the field I placed the ball on the ground and just started playing a few minutes after I heard a man calling me “ hey you” “yes” I responded “do you play for a soccer team” he asked me “no sir” I responded “well how would you like to play for my youth soccer academy” “I would love to my I don't know if my mother would let me” “well where do you live maybe I could convince her to let you play” he said insisting so I took him to my house. we rang the doorbell then my mom came out “hello there my name is “Manuel solano” the man said “hello my name is “maria and i’m Gotze’s mother” “can I come in” Manuel asked “yes of course” my mother responded when he entered they started talking about the soccer business while they were talking she said that I couldn't play because it was going to be too expensive but then manuel offered a full paid scholarship but my mom still said no as the man was about to leave I quickly ran to him and told him that I would like to play although my mom doesn’t want me to play I do and well she doesn't need to know that I play. “alright” he said agreeing so every time I would have a soccer game I would either make an excuse or sneak out.
But one day I got the news from my coach that the team I was playing in had qualified to play in a tournament in california.when I heard the news I thought to myself “ah man what excuse am I going to make now. so that day I went to my room and went on my knees and prayed that she would let me go. the next day I had told my mom “yes you can go” she told me “really!!” I said surprised but happy yes you can. when I arrived to california the coach told the team that in order to win this tournament that we had to put all our effort even if we're losing to never give up. We finally got to the finals there was two teams but only one championship “beeeeep” the referee blew his whistle and was a sign that the game was over we had lost 2-1 when we were about to leave back home a man came up to me “hi my name is Jose Mourino and i’m a scout for a german team called borussia dortmund in germany”. “really then what are you doing here” I thought in my mind “well I would like you to come play for my semi professional team in Germany” “Germany” I told him “yeah i'm flying there tomorrow with one other kid from this tournament here’s my number call me today for you can come but I need to know if you're coming by today by the way what’s your name ” he asked me “its Mario Gotze” I responded. so that day when I got home I was going to tell my mom but my mom had just had an argument with my father and when I was going to talk to her “mom”but she was so mad that she just pushed me away and said I don’t care. when I heard those words my a tear came into my face so i ran upstairs grabbed the phone and called Jose Mourino “hello” he answered “yes hello its gotze i'm calling you to inform you that i’m able to go” “are you sure? did you talk with you mom already” he asked “yeah she said yeah” I responded “alright give me your address and i'll pick you up and we can go to the airport but pack your clothes” he told me so I gave him my address. As i was packing my clothes I started to think about the desicion I was making if I should go or not and what I would lose if I go but at the end I had to leave in order to fulfill my dream when jose Mourino came for me my mom was asleep so I went to her room and kissed her in the forhead and put my lucky necklace on her neck than placed a note on her desk “by mom I love you” I told her as a tear fell from my face than went to my dads room and placed my luckey cleats on his bed and told him that I loved him. went I got on the car I felt sadness but brave knowing that I was making the right decision when I got to the airport I saw the other kid with his mom and his dad together like a real family and well that made me even sadder because I wish that my family was like that. when we got on the plane all I could think of is my mother and my father when I arrived to germany jose had grabbed us and told us that we were going to practice with the team “hey what’s your name” the boy asked me “ its Mario gotze” I responded “what's your name” I then asked him “its Marco Reus few when Jose Mourino took us to train the coach was impressed and wanted both of us in the team as we started playing there our chances of being a professional soccer player were higher. At first we started on bench but soon we were both starters in the team “everywhere we went we were known as the Golden Boys because as a team me and him were very good when finally they called us up for the professional Borussia Dortmond squad then we were both called for the German National team where only the best players that are German can play of course I wasn't german but while I was living in germany I left my united states citizenship and got a german citizenship. We were the first and youngest players to be in the national german squad him being 19 years old and me being 17 years old.
there it was the semifinals of the world cup and there it was my mom was watching the game and when I scored my mom had heard the announcer say “goal from germany by the 17 year old boy Mario gotze” and well my mom was surprised she never thought I was going to go professional that day we had qualified for the finals of the world cup it was in one week the next day I had thought about my parents and well bought a ticket to NJ when I arrived to NJ I didn't know if my parents still lived there when I knocked there it was my mom she ran to me a huge me and said “I missed you” when I had told her everything that had happened to me she said that she knew and that she had watch my goal I was surprised that she watched soccer and then told her that I wanted her and my dad to move to germany and live with me and they agreed and came to germany to live with me then thought to myself I also have a real family.
