Obscure
Her face was hazy through the glass. You could see the subtle outline of her face. But everything else was just in patches. A blur of blue for an eye, a smidge of red for lips. She was smiling at something, someone. For a moment she graces you with the flash of a smile. It’s barely visible, the glimpse of white between red. It is perhaps the most beautiful sight you have ever seen. You want to meet this enchanting blur of a person. Know everything about her. But as she stands to leave, you can’t bring yourself to say hello. Because that would ruin it all. The perfect obscure beauty behind the glass wouldn’t be obscure at all. And that obscurity is what makes her so beautiful. When we are used to getting the crystal cut image, she is a short-lived reprieve. To take away her obscurity is sacrilege. So she will forever stay beautifully, wonderfully, perfectly, obscure.
