The Girl
The Girl
I woke up with my hands behind my back. Every part of my body was sore, I couldn’t feel anything. When I opened my eyes I knew something went wrong. With my mouth duct taped shut I walked around the old damp house trying to remember of what happened last night. “I probably got drunk again,” I said to myself. I turned around and suddenly everything went dark. I tried to squint my eyes to try and see if I could locate the nearest light switch. When I turned on the lights I heard a loud creak, like someone scratched a chalk board with their fingernails. I had shivers coming down my spine.
Turned around and I saw this cute little girl standing on the other side of the room. “How did you get here? What’s your name?” I asked her. She didn’t answer.
The lights went off again, this time it didn’t want to turn them back on. While flicking the light switch on and off, I start to see a little red light. I turned around and was scared enough to scream. The little girl, that little harmless girl carved a circle on the wooden floor. The symbol was not anything I’ve ever seen before. I tried to leave the room, twisting and turning the door handle but nothing worked. Every time I look back at the girl she was slowly getting closer and closer, with her deep deep eyes just looking straight at me.
I started to feel colder and colder like the sun had suddenly stopped working. My vision slowly started to fade away……..getting weaker and weaker I started to push on the door, hoping it would open. That little monster was so close to me that I could almost feel it, and with my last push on the door it opened.
The bright light from the sun brightened my vision; though I was still freezing cold I could see a lot better. The sun’s rays blinded that little girl, it gave me some time to stand up and run away.
It seemed like the house was on a huge hill surrounded by a forest. I ran towards the woods as fast as I could I didn’t even want to look back to see if the girl was following me. I ran and ran until I couldn’t run anymore. While running I tripped over a root, rolling down hill on top of all the sticks and stones that were lying on the ground. I tried to stop myself by using my legs as brakes. It was a good thing I was wearing shoes because if I didn’t the rocks would rip right through my feet.
After I got myself to stand up again I knew I was at the bottom of the hill, because there was a big road right on the bottom of the hill. I walked on the road, now the sun was so bright that it blinded me a little, just because I was in a dark forest for so long. My heart was beating as fast as it could, if it could beat any faster I think my heart would pop and I would just lie there on the street.
Thinking it was all over I ran over to the nearest building, hoping they would tell me where I was. I saw an old man walking down the street with his cane; he looked like he was going to fall over because he could barely walk. He said that it was June 19, 2037.
I couldn’t remember anything, not even my name or my birthday. I just kept walking in the other direction, away from that “haunted house.”
It was getting dark and I was getting hungry. I fainted………….
“AHHHHHHH!” I woke up screaming, sweat pouring down my face. I look around quietly with my heart pounding. I was lying down in my bed, thinking it was only a dream. As I walk to the kitchen to get a drink of water I see a small little girl standing in the other side of the kitchen She looked exactly like the one in my dream. I think to myself, “Here I am again, alone in the endless darkness, cold eyes with my heart slowly turning into ice. Dreams really do come true”
