Dystopia
Dystopia
Have you ever been forced into a situation out of your control? I have. All I did was just play on my Xbox and my life just began to take a nosedive out of control. I was taken from the comfort of my home and thrown out into the biggest hell hole possible.
I’m Zach James, I’m 14 years old and I am now a Staff sergeant. How did I get here well here’s my story.
“Pow! Pow! Bop!” I yelled as I punched this guy on xBoxing for the Kinect. This was the 54th straight match I had won and I just got a message. “ I wonder what this is about” I asked as I opened the message.
*Zach James*
This is a message from the Xbox family. We invite you and 2 of your friends to join us in our first annual gaming convention on the 15th. We hope you are able to make it!
* Serge Ant- Director of Videogame Physics.*
“Oh man! Mom!! Can you take me to the convention center for this game thingie?” I yelled at the top of his lungs.
“Sure when is it?” Mom asked back.
“Next week on the 15th.”
“Ok, then!”
-A week later-
“Mom! You can drop us off right here! Right next to the entrance!” I requested. “Thanks mom! Have a nice time at Grandma’s house.” I said as I dismissed her.
“Hey Zach, Is it just me or is the convention center super empty?” Gus asked in a freaked out voice
“Yeah, this place does look really empty. I wonder where the convention is.” I replied.
As Doug, Gus and I walked through the shiny metallic doors I notice nothing but an empty building.
“Guys, I’m scared” Doug said as he began to tremble.
“Am I the only one that sees those guys in the corner?” I whispered to my pals as I examine the rest of the room.
“Oh god! They’re walking towards us! Open the door man!” Screamed Doug
“They’re not opening!! What do I do?!” panicked Gus.
“We’re gonna have to fight them!” I yelled.
Than all of a sudden I blacked out. Everything was black, I couldn’t hear anything. All I knew was I was being dragged out in a bag and thrown in a vehicle.
- Several Days later-
“Good morning Mr. James. It’s glad to see you have awaken.” Said the man in the scrubs.
“Who are you? Where am I!?” I yelled “Where’s my friends?!”
“I’m Dr.Cal. I just treated your gunshot wounds. You weren’t supposed to make it but I saved your life.”
“You’re not answering my Question.”
“They didn’t make it during the raid, I’m sorry. Well at least now you can participate in the training!”
“Training?”
“Put this on and I’ll take you to Sgt. Ant.”
-45 Minutes later-
Wow! There are so many strong, fast and smart kids here. Why is this so uniformed? Last time I checked summer camp wasn’t THIS uniformed. I thought to myself.
“Hey Doc! So you never told me where are we?” I asked nicely.
“We’re at AK Boot Camp”
“ What’s this camp for?” I asked with curiosity.
“It’s to help prepare us for an upcoming war, We’re collecting teens and young adults based on their video game habits and skills.”
“So what the heck am I doing here? I’m nothing special.” I replied
“Don’t worry about it.” Dr. Cal said with a smirk. “Hello Mr.Ant! This is the boy we have told you so much about!”
“Greetings! Thank you for bringing him to me in such a swift manner. Now leave me alone with Mr. James for a moment.” Mr.Ant said.
“Yessir!” Dr. Cal replied as he left the room in a sweat.
“I know that you are still confused as to why you are here. We know you’re not the strongest or bravest kid in the world but you are really smart and that’s what we need in our little militia. We will whip you in shape!” Mr. Ant said in a stern voice.
I just stood there with emotions that just made me extremely nauseous and then I just blanked out again.
-The Next Day-
“Everybody wake up! Morning training begins in 1 Hour!” Blared an Intercom in my bunker.
“Damn man this sucks.” Said a boy on the bed across the room from me. “Hey man! I never got to meet you! I’m Dennis!”
“I’m Zach.” I replied in a miserable voice. “Why are we here?”
“You didn’t hear this from me but they’re going to ship us to some foreign country to try to fight off some Nuclear experiments, but that’s just rumors.”
“Oh alright well we should head out for training”
-55 Minutes later-
As I was walking onto the huge obstacle course out on the field I rubbed my hands on the nice cool grass as it was the first and last time I would be able to enjoy nature in a long time.
“Everbody Line up! In Alphabetical order!” yelled Mr.Ant.
-30 Minutes later of standing in line-
“Dennis Jackson! You’re up!” Mr. Ant called out
As Dennis began his lap around the obstacle course I soon learned that this camp was not only for kids. It was for kids with special talents. He was leaping over every barrel and climbing over every fence.
“Oh man.” I sighed.
“Ok! Rookie you’re up!” Mr. Ant yelled.
“Ok I got this.” I said confidently.
As I lined up for my lap I felt as if I jumped 100 feet in the Air!
“Ouch!” I yelled as my head hit the barrel.
“Rookie you’re done.” Go back to your bunker!
This crap in training just kept happening me for several days. But than one day I just had an epiphany. So instead of sitting around moping in my room I went to the weight room and Agility course to help prove that I can be ready.
-2 Weeks later-
“ Rookie! Get our there!”
As I lined up for the start of my lap I thought of all the hard work I put into this and began sprinting.
“Theres the first barrel!” I said as I was about to make the jump! “I made it! I can do this!”
So there I was sprinting and climbing and jumping all over the course!
“Rookie! Great job that was remarkable! I think you are ready’’
“Ready for what?” I asked in a frightened voice.
“To be sent out with Dennis and the others on a Mission to disrupt a Nuclear testing facility in Southern Asia!”
“What?” asked right before I blacked out again…
