Anti-Hero This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

Saved by a fingertip
holding on
it could never be wrong
to trust you.
Watch me sleep
headphones, face-smush
legs curled, two-handed sleeping face palm.
Silent guardian
playing
Pearl Jam
reading
Camus
“… break his nose
if he comes any closer …”
Might have been
nothing to you,
but it carefully
flipped my world.

you know, i'm only 14.
haven't seen much of the world past my little county.
and i neverreally understood why poetry was so important.
this is amazing, chick.
my language teacher would probably worship at you if she read this.
i hope i get to see more of your work.
oh, P.S.- i love Pearl Jam;)

Hmmh. I'm 18, and have seen little of the world as well, except through books and news reports, so don't feel alone there. ;)

Why do you think it's important now?

I can't seem to stop writing, so you probably will see more. Thank you.

They rock, no?
