Friends Who Lost Their Way

I knew that I would lose you,
Didn't think it would be so soon.
Thought we'd have some more time
To talk under the moon.

But now I feel you leaving me,
Like I never thought you would.
I thought that it would never happen,
I should have knocked on wood.

I see you looking at him,
And it kills me in the heart,
Because I like the same guy,
And it is tearing me apart.

We made a pact to never lie,
We should have signed in blood.
Then maybe when we tell the truth
We wouldn't let it smudge.

I know that you don't see
The hurt you put me through.
But did you ever stop to think
It's because I don't want you too?

I see you looking at him,
And it kills me in the heart,
Because I like the same guy,
And it is tearing me apart.

You are more to me than my feelings;
That is why I will let you have him.
But will you even play with me
And be my friends again?

I hope I haven't lost you,
Because if I have I will cry.
My light may just go out.
I might lay down and die.

I see you looking at him,
And it kills me in the heart,
Because I like the same guy,
Please don't let it tear us apart.
