Wishing for Amnesia This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

By
Memories marred by the attempts to delete them,
She doesn’t know what really happened anymore.
The Incident becomes incidents become “it happens all the time.”
Now all she knows
Is that it happens all the time.

Denial becomes excuses becomes I’m sorrys and
“What do you want me to do?”
It’s too late. She’s already afraid.

Afraid to be pitied,
She clutches her teddy bear, swallows her tears
And allows them to read her a story.

Very good.  Good title.  Consider removing the line "Is that it happens all the time" it is a repeat of what is already been said and the repetition doesn't add much  and isn't a theme throughout so it is not necessary.  I love the flow of this and the format of each stanza.

I agree with day_dreamer. It's deep and emotional, yet short and simple.

First though: Has she been spying on me!? Second thought: I think I'm going to cry now. If you can think of word that means painfully beautiful I will use it to describe this work of art.

This is great and very deep. I was wondering...is it the girl's parents that she's so afraid of? Anyways, great job!
