The Sega Dreamcast was the last console Sega made before they stopped making consoles and just stuck to making games. The Dreamcast could have been a great console if the playstation didn’t overshadow it, and Sonic Adventure proves it.

Story:
Sonic comes back home after stopping Dr.Robotnik another time when he see’s a group of police cars going wildly through the streets. He follows them until they get to a giant blue monster. The police shoot it, but the bullets only go through the monster. The police retreat, and sonic fights the monster. After defeating it, It’s showed that Dr.Robotnik was watching, and reveals that the monster was Chaos, a god of destruction. Sonic leaves but soon sees tails crash his plane. He goes to help and tails shows him a chaos emerald he found and take him to his base in the mystic ruins. When they arrive though, Dr.Robotnik shows up and takes the emerald and reveals his plan about giving Chaos enough emeralds to get him in his “Perfect” Form. Now Sonic,Tails,Knuckles,Amy,Gamma, and Big must stop Robotnik's plan to take over the world

Gameplay:

When you start the game you play as Sonic, but as you progress you unlock more playable characters with a different style of gameplay. Sonic has his old style of Gameplay of just getting to the goal. Tails has to beat Sonic or Dr.Robotnik to the goal however. Knuckles has to find all 3 emerald pieces with a special alarm that rings when you’re near one, basically a game of hot and cold. Amy has to escape from a robot that you can’t destroy and get to an “Escape Balloon”. Gamma has a gun and must shoot enemies so his time run out since you have a much shorter time limit than the others, and beat a boss at the end of the stage. Big just fishes for his frog. There’s also VMU support that lets you play Chao adventure, a small mini game anywhere you are.

Visuals:
The game's graphics aren’t as good as Sonic adventure 2, but it’s still really good for the console. There is an incredible amount of details in the game. Whenever you pick up a special item you can see it on your character, like special gloves. They even put a lot of detail on the character’s shoes. Each stage is nicely done and and looks well made.

Downsides:
The only major Downside I see is the voice acting, which is a little bad. Other than that, The game’s great. Big’s fishing missions aren’t too bad, people just exaggerate a lot.

Score:
This game is fun, and deserves a lot more attention, even if it’s on a console few people have. This game gets an 8.5/10

How can I get it?

The game is on multiple systems, but I highly suggest getting the Dreamcast version. It’s worth getting a Dreamcast alone. The others have a lot more bugs and glitches, with the Gamecube and Xbox 360 versions having a ton of that.  A Dreamcast isn't too expensive, and so is the game. Grab a VMU while you’re at it. If you look through amazon or flea markets, it isn’t too hard to find the game and system.
