How will you breathe if the world you’ve made has no trees?
Or live, if you’ve pushed away all there is to see,
Out of fear, when in truth pain can be felt only right here,
Buried deep within, it is only in your reach.
You wish to efface your heart’s tears, to be alone.
But in solitude your words bounce off the walls in moans.
The warmth of vivid skin seeps from your fingertips,
Leaving you behind bars of iron and in rips.
We haven’t betrayed you by not finding a fix,
For the conviction of your mind will sew what’s amiss.
Release the anguish and the sorrow. You will find
These wild winds are wings to fly and will be more kind
Once you unbar the gates and free them outside, to leave.
Because confined to a corner of the world, your smile can’t breathe.

This text is about isolating yourself to try and surpass your problems. On the contrary, what would happen if you pulled down the walls and the barriers, if you allowed yourself to give the world a chance?
