i imagine
your calloused pink finger
trailing down the plump line
of my lips
i imagine things were different
you didn't go
things weren't always
"I don't know"
followed by the dial tone
or bringing me home
sobbing skin flushed with heat
the shame that boiled in my stomach
when you caught me looking in your phone
that every narrowed shot
of your eyes
every moment suspended in time
wasn't a mish mash
of i want more
and i'll never get it
because you don't want me
i imagine you wanting me
just for a second
