Song of the Subway
The rattle of the subway calls to me
Each time I hear it passing underneath
Like a show and it’s shouting emcee
Even in death this is what they bequeath
Let me see this transport’s array of men
In a metal tube going to and fro
Some find it peaceful for this is their zen
Others scoff at such beauty below
The violinist always gets my change
His profession is to scratch out sweet tunes
Glory under the New York Stock Exchange
And he’ll still be there after many moons
I’m enticed by this train’s diversity
 It helps me overcome adversity
