I sail within the ocean
To try and clear my head
So lost in thought I couldn't see
Rough waters up ahead

The waves keep getting stronger
They splash across my feet
I'm stranded in my thoughts
I don't think to retreat

So far lost in thought
That I don't even know
The air is getting colder
As the wind begins to blow

The skies are getting darker
Waves splash up past my knees
I don't even realize
The sudden change in degrees

Waves splash against my elbows
Yet I'm still locked in my trance
The water consumes my ship
It never had a chance

The water's rising higher
It's right under my chin
But I don't even notice
That this might be the end

The skies are clearing up now
The storm's over at last
And as for what happened to me
I got swallowed by my past
