Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill went up a hill–– a childlike
 task it should have been. The bucket was black
  and water it called; but enemy strike
 proved perilous conditions in Iraq

 Jack went first with a bullet to the head.
 Firearms shot from the opposing sides,
 and along with crown, Jack fell down dead––
 unfortunate status the king resides.

 Jill fell to the same fate as her ally.
 Mines hide from her eyes––limbs fly in the air;
 Displays the life that abides her goodbye––
 a misfortune as tragic as Shakespeare.

  And while Jack and Jill had quite the “blast”,
 the war continues aside from their past.
