Searching for Happiness

With a heavy sigh,
I release my pen.
Fountain of words run dry
As I write of my misfortune.
So instead, I turn the page;
Writing of joys gone past.
Beautiful memories locked in a cage,
A cage now taken and recast.
Instead of hiding away
I’ve decided to share the joy
Of old times lost in the fray
Upon a pedestal with no ploy.
Remember that happiness thrives
In our own lives.
