Happy Birthday to Me
Two small hands hold a single blood red rose
As she thinks of a dark and sad prose
Small black ballpoint pen tucked into her side
Shed tears although she said she would not cry
Writing some sad words, she sets the rose down
Upon her face, there is a giant frown
She knew she should not have hoped they would come
But parts of her still thought they were not gone
Why, on this dumb day, did they have to crash?
Forget the candles, I just want them back
Still crying, she walks away from the grave
Said she could do it, but she was not brave
She lost her parents on that stupid street
Crying, she said "Happy Birthday to me"
