He promises his love will never die;
He waited in long lines for its debut.
"Believe me when I say I will not lie
This game is one of which I will pursue."
Watching the screen intently as he plays
With precise aim, he kills another foe.
He could get them all, but he cannot stay
The enemy will get him, this he knows.
The screen is covered with its trademark red
Headset on, he barks orders to his friends.
"Revive me soon, or else I'll end up dead!"
...This looks as if it is the bitter end.
The game, cut short, because his life was lost
The boy is nothing now without Black Ops.

The author's comments:
Inspired 100% by my 10 year old brother, who is obsessed with Call of Duty: Black Ops. I had to write a sonnet for a big project, so I used him.
