Dear Lover
Dear lover of mine, I want to forget
You’ve left me alone after all this time
I say that I want to forget, and yet
Remembering you is oh so sublime
Your voice and your touch they haunt all my dreams
Those memories of you, they burn into me
It’s your name my nightmares cause me to scream
Dear lover of mine, please just set me free
I’m trapped in a cage of what was our love
Just a bird whose melody’s gone and died
The bird is mute but love it’s not rid of
Dear lover of mine, it seems I have lied
Never again will I want to forget you
Dear lover of mine, my love remains true
