The Awakening
Will you covet in thy shadows later
For who am I to doubt you when I'm gone
I hope our love is not a long fable
We will be tested when I leave at dawn

Shield your tears for they are weaking me
For I must leave, this is our one last hope
I feel just as morbid, weak at the knee
Please do not stand there as I watch your mope

All the lonely days we shall spend apart
Hoping to see a new light in the dark
At my depart, you will be in my heart
My absence will leave a permanent mark

As the darkness now closes upon us
I ask that you remember me at dusk
