Well we've graduated eighth grade
and school's been let out.
I'm lucky if I get to see you
just once a week now.
I can't help but wonder though
when will mother get too tough,
and decide that once a week
with you is too much?
So when the movies get too long
or the music gets too loud,
just take my hand in yours
and pull me away from the crowd.
Then press your lips against mine,
soft and slow and sweet,
wrap your arms around my waist
and sweep me off my feet.
Say you love me like it's true,
sweet and soft and slow,
then lean down and kiss me again,
hug me and pull me close.
I'm wishing, wanting, waiting for
the day when you just might
make that really happen
not just in my dreams at night…
