The grass stains her feet
As she runs to me
Her eyes alight
She’s all I see

She laughs aloud
And I smile
To see her happy
It’s all worthwhile

I hold her close
We watch the sky
She points out clouds
The time flies by

Our time is gone
She must return
I watch her go
And see her turn

She waves to me
In my bare feet
I walk away
My joy complete
