Sonnet
A shadow stares out the sixth floor window
What does he stare at through the darkened night?
He shadowed head rest upon his elbow
The city lights reflected back snow-white
Is it the moon he looks at with its glow?
Or is I the traffic lights green and red?
He thinks of the questions all answered no
Everything messes, messes with his head
Not gazing at the cars or moon but yet
No looking at anything eye can see
But at a love so deep he falls in debt
His love is not of a girl but of whiskey
He thinks back to what brought him here
Another day full of pain and hate near
