My mother and I
I'm slowly forgeting
 what used to be
in the world that we lived in
 before we broke free

 When decisions were simple
 there's right and there's wrong
when the bad days were short
 and the summers so long

 I remember the day time
 we'd spend in the park
 waiting for sunsets
 we'd stay out till dark

 I remember the worst times
 a scrape on the knee
 but through my crying eyes
I'd see you there for me

 I remember while growing
 I became someone new
you said you still loved me
 I said that's not true

 I remember how I tried
 to push you away
I sreamed loud "I hate you!"
 but you always stayed

 I remember I got in
 to my first school choice
 we screamed and we hugged
till we both lost our voice

 I remember us hugging
 as we said goodbye
 I'm grown now, in collage
 not too grown to cry
