The Still Hours

January 9, 2026

At dawn the gentle sun gilds earth with gold

Soft breezes stir the fields in quiet grace

Each blooming flower sheds hues bright and bold

Yet shadows still linger, mask half the face

The days glide on like rivers soft and slow

The hearts find peace in currents running deep

We walk through paths where ancient rivers flow

Yet still we fear what surging winds might sweep

The quiet hours teach patience to the heart

While fleeting joys slip past our steady sight

We dream of heights where daring hopes take part

And chase lost seconds fading with the night

But pause, true worth lies not in all we chase

For love and rest outshine the frantic race

This piece was done at a hectic and chaotic time in life. It is meant to be a poem where people can read it and be reminded that, within these crazy times that life brings, the most that matters is the quiet within it all.
