In Nature I See You
As I see nature, I think of you,
Laila, I hear you loud and clear,
Oh-it’s just the wind copying you dear,
I will never forget you-that is true.
Ah! Roses remind me of your perfume,
The birds’ songs like your voice that warmed a room,
The weeping willow’s wave, just like your dance,
And the sun’s rays like you at any glance.
Sadly, I now think of you when crows come,
And when flowers throw all their petals away,
And when frogs’ hearts don’t beat like a drum,
And when ripples on the water settle.
I try to hold on to you with my might,
Gone from my hand, but you are in my heart.
