Daddy’s drinking on the corner of the street
Mum hasn’t spoken all day, all week
Nana’s too afraid of what she might not say
Granddad’s lonely, the old man can only pray...

...that the boys, from down the road
Cry in time to a solemn tone
And the neighbors say they don’t care
That heartbreak's, is they’ve known

(Chorus)
Oh Hermes. Stealing hearts.
You tricky thieve.
Who wears his brain, out on his sleeve
I hate to pick a fight in an empty room.
So please come back.
Whilst you’re still here.

A group of cars park into a square
To fill the life, that is not there
And the leaves cannot fall
Gravity's lost direction
Leaving nowhere to go

(Chorus X2)

They’ve branded you
They’ve branded you
They’ve branded you
we’ve missed you
X2

(Chorus)
brother Hermes. Stealing keys.
Walking out when the night is at sleep.
Young blood, running out, out of fear
I hate to pick a fight in an empty room.
So please come back.
Whilst you’re still here.

Brownie points for you if you spotted the Hermes reference both a brand (“they've branded you”) and the Greek God of thieves- amongst others.( “you tricky thieve”).
Is he running out of fear or running out due to fear? Is "she" blaming God for taking her brother too soon? Or has he run away?
