"We all can be only what we are, nothing more, or less."- Sword of Truth (Kahlan)

Know that we'll keep you in our heart,

And how I'm breaking just to part,

But I'll see you again my friend,

I'll be right there across the bend.

I know your home isn't with me,

So I gotta let you free,

Just don't forget about us here,

Don't go off and disappear.

Expect to see me again my friend,

From here on out until the end.

Things are changing; life is ranging.

I can remember the day I first met you,

Only if I would of knew,

Just how special you'd be to me,

Maybe then it woudn't be

So darn hard for me to let you free.

So I'll be saying goodbye today,

As you move on out, away.

This is so much harder than I thought it'd be,

But that's because you're a part of me.

I'll miss you dearly, signed sincerely,

You're friend and you're happy place,

Where even through time and space,

You never can erase, the joy upon my face.

So I'll take back my goodbye,

Soon enough it'll be another hi,

As we go off into the rye.

The author's comments:

These lyrics were written with much compassion and heartache as I had to learn to say goodbye to a friend of mine. Goodbyes aren't forever though, and this song highlights my understanding of friendship through the hard times. It accompanies a guitar instrumental my friend created.

This was very emotional, I can really relate with it. I can feel the emotions in the writing
