"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away" - unknown

We are trying to make this through
Because we see at the end
There's only pain, my friend

I'm forgetting simple things
Simple words
That used to make everything better in the blink of an eye
Not this time

Every breath you take
Every step on a different pave
Is us slipping away
So we forget what it’s like
To remember something good
Something we should
Say
It's us slipping away

We're holding the threads of each other
Trying to sort out and admit that
We can't do this forever
Your letting go
I can feel you slipping away in my fingers
Your choosing to walk away
And I'm finding that there are things I can no longer say

Every breath you take
Every step of a different pave
Is us slipping away
So we forget what it’s like
To remember something good
Something we should
Say
It's us slipping away

Us slipping away
Did you ever think
That our light would fade?
I’m falling to the dark
And your rising to the light
There's no one here for me
On this dark and stormy night

Every breath you take
Every step of a different pave
Is us slipping away
So we forget what it’s like
To remember something good
Something we should
Say
It's us slipping away

We've been trying to hold on here
But is it better to forget and move on
Than let the pain and heartache near?
