"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away" - unknown

Remember the princess lunch boxes
Think of jump ropes and relay race starts
Do you remember when pain
Only touched our knees and elbows
And never our hearts

And I was only happy
To live in this wonderland forever
Until I looked around
Everyone's gone
And the protective walls of innocence
Came crashing down

Everything changes
How could I have ever thought
That things stay the same
And there's no moving on
We were all once an innocent start
With sweet unblemished hearts
But now I know that innocence eventually runs away
And nothing stays the same

And now my childhood's grown up
Remember when the most grown up stuff
Was only makeup, suit and ties
And the only thing that could bring us down were the monsters in the closest
And the most rebellious thing was lying?

And now we've suddenly become the monsters
Hiding underneath the bed
So we don't have to think of all the pressure and noise
Building up in our head

Everything changes
How could I have ever thought
That things stay the same
And there's no moving on
We were all once an innocent start
With sweet unblemished hearts
But now I know that innocence eventually runs away
And nothing stays the same

Drowning in our troubles
(the pressures building up)
Sinking towards the bottom
Falling way to deep
And the only thing I'm screaming is
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Was there ever anybody listening to me?

Everything changes
How could I have ever thought
That things stay the same
And there's no moving on
We were all once an innocent start
With sweet unblemished hearts
But now I know that innocence eventually runs away
And nothing stays the same

Nothing ever stays the same
The light eventually gets chased out by the dark
We were all once such an innocent start
With unscarred, unbroken, dreaming hearts
