The Jungle Cat

She growls and prowls
In the tall jungle grass
Between the trees
No tom dares enter her territory
They all know what happened
To the only tom to cross her border
All the jungle animals
Admire her beauty and power
Even as the light fades from their eyes
As the light fades from the sky
And all becomes covered in shadow
She wakes up
And prowls inside to check on her humans
